Mrs Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport, congratulated the CIVITAS community and highlighted the importance of exporting ideas and experiences developed in the CIVITAS projects in the five continents. This is how CODATU wishes to contribute to the CIVITAS community.
Sustainable urban mobility experiences beyond Europe
As part of a session on « The experiences of sustainable mobility beyond the borders of Europe, » Lorenza Tomasoni presented a matter of deep reflection within the network CODATU: the future of paratransit.
The parallel between shared mobility (car-sharing, car-pooling, uber-like systems, …) and paratransit was strongly debated with the audience and many people showed a great interest to deepen the question. Shared mobility was also the main theme of the keynote speaker of the closing plenary, Ali Clabburn, Founder and Managing Director of Liftshare.
