This does not have escaped anyone’s attention: in December, Paris will host the 21st Annual Conference of Parties (COP21) on climate change, with the objective of reaching, for the first time, a universal agreement that must focus on mitigation (limiting global warming to below 2°C) and societies’ adaption to existing climates changes. Sustainable mobility will obviously be one of the main focus of the negotiations.
Hence, many initiatives related to mobility are currently being developed, and CODATU is deeply involved in these. To heighten the awareness on the reality and risks that emissions brings to our society, and its impacts on climate change, CODATU, with the support of the Union of Public and Railway Transport (UTP) and the Association of Transport Authorities (GART), is organizing a photo competition, and is inviting you to submit photos on the following theme:
We would like to enhance the impact of urban transport in fighting climate change through images that challenge us to re-imagine mobility in the most original and engaging way!
The competition is open to all photography enthusiasts worldwide. Entrants are requested to submit their photo on CODATU’s website, using the form below, before November 1st, 2015, midnight (French time).
The vote will be organized online, through CODATU’s website. Votes will be registered from 2nd November to 12th November 2015. A judging panel composed of a photographer, a journalist and an international transport expert will also be involved, and will be responsible for 50% of the decision. The results will be disclosed on the 16th of November 2015. The winners will be personally informed.
The winner will:
Be Honored by receiving a framed print photo with the logos of CODATU and other partners;
Be Displayed in the transport networks of several cities in the world, and on the home page of CODATU website, during the two weeks of COP21 in Paris (30th November to 15th December 2015);
Win 600€ in cash prizes;
Win a free registration to the CODATU XVII conference to be held in New Delhi in 2017.
Photos that will be classified on the second and third place will be also exhibited in the transport networks of cities worldwide and will win respectively 300€ and 150€ in cash prices.
A selection of the best photos will then travel to various countries to be displayed at conferences, festivals, galleries and other urban transport related events such as the Sustainable Transport Award (STA) organised every January by the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) in Washington DC during the Transport Research Board event gathering more than 12.000 people.
To know more about the Rules & Regulations, and participate to the competition, visit CODATU website, and send us your photos before the 1st of November !!!
